So… this is a response to football. You know which football I’m talking about you-person-reading-this-post.
Yeah, I hate people who change fan alliances too. They’re called bandwagon fans and people hate them, although usually it’s because they come in the middle of the season when a team is just becoming hot. Usually people stay with them until the preseason and then leave when they lose in the playoffs or gloat about it when they win the championship.
And… yeah. Oh, about hatred for the Patriots. Hmmm… I personally don’t think there’s as much vitriol for them as in years past. I think the greatest dislike for them came in 2007, when they were on their way to a perfect season. Everyone hates a perfect team. Everyone hates it when a team wins at their expense. The Pats did a lot of winning that year, until it came to the Super Bowl where they lost to the Giants. After that, it was mostly smirks and stuff.
There really isn’t as much hatred for the Pats, mostly because they haven’t been the Super Bowl since 2004 and they haven’t won a playoff game since 2007. So…
But yeah, having different jerseys in support of different teams in the same sport is pretty goddamn stupid. A true fan should only root for his own team. Yeah, he can support one team against another, but he should only buy jerseys for one team. For me, it’s the Philadelphia Eagles in football, UNC in college basketball, and the Red Sox in baseball.
I guess I don’t really have a team in college football. It used to be Michigan, but there’s no particular reason why. I guess it ought to be UNC by default, but I don’t know anything about the team. I like Texas and USC, but there’s no particular reason why either. I guess I just like college football in general. There are definitely teams I hate though. I hate LSU, I hate Ohio State, and I hate Miami. I like Stanford. So… yeah.
This was quite rambly.
I thought you meant soccer until you started throwing in the team names >.<
